Abstract
Levels of Parallelism In Suad Alsubah Poetry Parallelism is considered an important element in forming the structure of the text, and its musicality. It is not borrowed and not new in the Arabic Poetry, and Arabs have known it since a long time as it was existing in the old Arabic rhetoric but with other names such as: Ornament, good division, embroidery, antithesis, complex antithesis and shifting the second hemistich to the first hemistich. Poets benefited from the structure of parallelism in their poetry as that suits impact in the acoustic and musical components, as well as in structure. Recently, however, Roman Jacobson has considered Parallelism a main element in poetry, that provides the text with an artistic structure that has a musical, structural, and semantic rhythm. Parallelism was clearly observed in the text of Suad Al- Sabah with all its features. The poetess relied on this structural and artistic phenomenon in many of her texts, where she showed her different visions. This has given her texts a strong structure, through which she could express her premonitions and emotions. This study aims at showing the most important types of parallelism that were clear in Suad Al Sabah’s poetry uncovering their beauties, and analyzing them on the basis of the following levels: 1. Progressing Level 2. Structural Level 3. Antithetic Level 4. Recurring Level
