Abstract

The HOBOT project is an automation system that allows for control over the equipment in a house, such as, ventilation, lighting, power system, security system, etc. HOBOT is made to be highly flexible and customizable by the user. A surveillance robot and numerous indoor and outdoor options support HOBOT. HOBOT is ubiquitous; users can use smart phones, tablets, laptops and other commuting devices. The system provides a true pervasive computing experience. HOBOT Software is web-enabled and supports several modes of use including the administration of customization and calibration. This paper presents the system organization, architecture, programming application, evaluation and analysis of the proposed system.
