Abstract

In this paper, we accelerate the performance of the population-based harmony search algorithm using a simple implementation under MATLAB on graphic processing units (GPUs). The implementation is tested on several well-known benchmark functions providing a considerable speedup over both the sequential and CPU-parallel implementations.
